Bathroom, Saint Andrews Road, Enfield
Engaged to refurbish the entire bathroom by fitting an extra shower to the already existing bathtub. While removing the initial tiles we encountered several problems with the walls. The actual tiles had been laid on plywood which really isn't the way to do it and subsequently covering up a very old and damaged lath & plastered Victorian walls. After several attempts in "preserving" some parts of these walls we came to the inevitable conclusion that the walls had to come down and decided to hack off the entire loose plaster work alongside the lath & plaster. Again the stud walls were also in a bad condition and where we could we re-enforced it with 4x2 buttons. The wet area was addressed with "Aqua Panels" waterproof cemented base panels and the remainder of the walls we sand and cemented, that way the room was sound and ready for tiling and suite fitting. The following is what the customer had to say: "The work was carried out to a high standard and I'm very pleased with the finished bathroom. Paolo's workmen were courteous and hard working. They found solutions to problems and made everything work. Also the tiling is excellent." Peter - Saint Andrews Road EN1
